Grenada CBI PROGRAMME
The Grenadian citizenship by investment programme has been extremely popular in recent years, offering investors the opportunity to gain citizenship in the island formerly known as the Spice Island. With its myriad of locally grown spices, Grenada is famous for its diving, sailing, excellent restaurants, fabulous beaches and a calendar of unforgettable festivities.
The current version of the programme was established in 2013 investors can expect visa free or visa on arrival travel to 131 countries. Furthermore, Grenada is the only citizenship by investment country to have visa free access to China.
Through the purchase of real estate worth $250,000 US Dollars or a donation to the government’s national transformation fund starting at $200,000 US Dollars for a single applicant, an investor can stake their claim in the only Caribbean island which is party to the E2 visa scheme; opening the doors to investment in the United States.
The Application Process
- Step 1: Choose an Authorised International Marketing Agent. Global Capital Hub has a trusted network of investment advisors, migration agents and lawyers across many jurisdictions who are on hand to facilitate your citizenship application. The agent will provide assistance with the filing of official forms, attending a medical examination and obtaining certain supporting documentation. If the citizenship by investment process involves the purchase of real estate, this will need to be reserved through a sale and purchase agreement. Our experienced agents are able to guide you through this process
- Step 2: Submitting the Application to the Executive Office of the CBIC. The authorised local agent then becomes responsible for liaising with the Grenadian Citizenship by Investment Committee (CBIC) Executive Office in relation to all correspondence, queries or questions regarding the application.
- Step 3: Due Diligence Check. Each application is vetted by the government through a due diligence background check, during which time any information submitted will be examined and verified. A recommendation will be issued by the CBIC with the final approval in the hands of the Minister who generally follows the recommendation. Upon the Minister’s decision, the applicant will be issued with a letter detailing the outcome.
- Step 4: Instructions to Complete the Contribution or Purchase. If the application is successful, the CBIC issues a letter instructing the applicant to either make the contribution or complete the purchase of his or her real estate. If real estate is purchased, the applicant must demonstrate completion, as well as execution of all of the necessary documents. When proof of payment is received by the CBIC, the certificate of registration will be issued, confirming that the applicant has received Grenadian citizenship.
